Job Description:

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our development and operations teams to ensure the seamless delivery and deployment of our applications. You will work closely with senior engineers to automate processes, manage infrastructure, and enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure as Code: Assist in the development, maintenance, and management of infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring that all infrastructure changes are automated and version-controlled.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Support the design, implementation, and optimization of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Gradle, and Maven. Work to automate testing, build, and deployment processes.
  • Cloud Management: Work with AWS services to manage, monitor, and scale infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda. Assist in optimizing cloud resources for cost and performance.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Use Datadog for monitoring, logging, and alerting. Help in setting up dashboards and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Kafka Management: Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Kafka clusters, ensuring reliable and scalable message streaming and processing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and deployment processes. Participate in code reviews and collaborate on best practices.
  • Scripting and Automation: Write scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency. Utilize scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or others relevant to the task.
  • Documentation: Maintain and improve documentation of infrastructure, processes, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and easy onboarding for new team members.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Java-based applications, including build tools such as Maven and Gradle.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS).
  • Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Basic knowledge of Kafka for message streaming.
  • Understanding of monitoring tools like Datadog.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing processes.
