SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Harrogate

One of our partner Alternative Provisions in Harrogate are currently seeking a number of new SEN Teaching Assistants for September 2024. These are full-time, long-term positions that turn permanent after a 12 week training period.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). You will work closely with the students to provide aspirational and positive outcomes for pupils with complex SEMH needs, through high quality holistic and academic support and securing students’ physical and emotional wellbeing.

To assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning and SEMH development

Provide one-on-one support to students with complex needs, promoting independence and well-being

*

Experience in a care background or similar field, particularly with individuals with SEMH needs

*

Completion of Moving and Handling training or willingness to undertake this course

Completion of Team Teach level 2 training or willingness to undertake this course

Possession of an Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
