We are looking for a Principal Architect / Software Architect to join a world renowned financial company focused within the digital economy that connects people and businesses across the globe.

Overview

As a Principal Architect / Software Architect, you will bring your expertise in modern software architecture to design solutions for a global business-to-business (B2B) technology platform. The platform will help businesses of all sizes manage payments in the buying and selling of products and services.

£110k-£130k base salary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall architecture for the Commercial Solutions platform using microservices-based architecture principles, particularly in the fintech industry.
  • Design and implement enterprise-grade APIs that follow best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical blueprints and service descriptions.
  • Ensure high availability, resiliency, and scalability of the solutions to maximize uptime and capacity.
  • Collaborate with senior technical leaders and product teams to deliver your architectural designs.
  • Work closely with other principal engineers, service architects, development teams, and product owners.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Partner with other architecture and technology teams to apply best practices in global-scale systems, including cloud deployment and on-prem solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in designing solutions based on platform-as-a-service (PaaS), containers, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience in Microservices and Monoliths, when is best to use either or.
  • Experience in architecting high-transaction, globally scalable financial or payment systems with strict uptime requirements.
  • Extensive experience building global-scale backend microservices using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and related technologies.
  • Experience with automated testing and continuous delivery practices, using tools like Git.
  • Comfort working in an Agile environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • A strong desire to mentor technology teams and collaborate with product leaders on technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes to solve complex business challenges.
