About this client/child: Tom is 14 years old and lives with his Mum and Dad in their fully adapted home. Tom is a charming, sweet, and cheerful young man with a love of music, arts and crafts and spending time with his family. Tom has cerebral palsy and complex care and medical needs; He is reliant on others to meet all his health, care, and medical needs. He uses a communication book along with facial expressions, body language and sounds to support his communication. Tom has a dedicated and committed care team in place and he is now seeking an SEN School Holiday Support Worker to join His care team works in collaboration with Mum and Dad who are instrumental in their son s care.
The shift starts at 9.Due to his complex needs, Tom requires help with tube feeding, his physiotherapy programme and personal care. Experience of these would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. This role offers 2 days per week during school holidays, 9.The family welcome a team member who would like to travel to Devon (for one week) during the Summer to support Tom whilst he is on his family holiday.
A kind, committed, confident and considerate SEN professional with a passion for supporting and caring for others. This is a fantastic opportunity for perhaps a Teaching Assistant, Teacher or Student seeking a part-time role during school holidays. For this role, you must be a driver, with a car (due to the location of the family s home).
