Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Leeds, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £60k

Position Overview:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing our development and deployment processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions. If you are passionate about automating processes, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with a dynamic team, this position is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure and services
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters and orchestration
  • Develop and maintain Docker containers
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process, e.g. GitLab
  • Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Write Python scripts for automation and custom tools
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system and application issues
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role
  • Strong expertise in AWS services and solutions
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization technologies
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI/CD
  • Solid programming skills, especially in Python
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with other cloud providers (Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of other programming languages and scripting languages
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack)
  • Security and compliance expertise
