Role Overview We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team. You will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities across departments, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of components and materials to meet production schedules. This role is key to supplier management, cost optimisation, and maintaining accurate procurement data. Responsibilities Coordinate purchasing activities in line with MRP requirements and production schedules. Raise and manage purchase orders and requisitions. Source components at optimal pricing and specifications from approved vendors. Evaluate supplier quotations to ensure best value and quality. Expedite deliveries and escalate supply issues to senior buyer or purchasing manager. Support urgent sourcing needs for immediate production requirements. Act as first-line support for delivery delays and production shortages. Maintain accurate procurement data and resolve invoice, delivery, or quality disputes. Share market intelligence with internal teams (e.g., lead time changes, price fluctuations, product obsolescence). Assist in supply base optimisation and implementation of procurement strategies. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications 3–5 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or related roles. Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply and CIPS membership (desirable but not essential). Experience in electronics manufacturing or Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM) preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP systems. Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management. Strong customer service and internal stakeholder engagement. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
