Data Centre Migration Manager required for a client of ours in London, United Kingdom.

We are looking for someone who will play a pivotal part in orchestrating a strategic data center (DC) move, overseeing the migration of all applications and servers to the latest corporate/central stack.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and coordination efforts for the data center migration, collaborating closely with central teams to define migration strategies and timelines.
  • Develop comprehensive migration plans, considering all aspects of the migration process including server provisioning, application dependencies, and testing requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of migration activities, ensuring adherence to established plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to facilitate the timely setup and configuration of servers to specification.

  • Identify potential risks and issues associated with the migration process and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Monitor migration activities closely, identifying and resolving any issues or roadblocks that may arise.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing large-scale data center migrations, preferably within a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, server provisioning, and application deployment processes.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex migration projects.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance principles and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

The role is an initial 6-month contract.
