The Purpose of the role:

Manages a cross-functional team of both experienced professionals and team leaders; manages medium-sized program or multiple smaller program; monitors strategic planning efforts; presents progress reports; recommends proactive solutions for program problems; manages the P&L; manages sub-tier suppliers; supports contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

  • Leads programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules and budgets in an Integrated Program Team working with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Quality, Aftermarket and Business Development
  • Manages the P&L of the programs to ensure profitability targets are met and manages multiple sub-tier suppliers
  • Develops milestones, program plans, schedules and budgets to ensure that the organisation’s objectives are met
  • Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the programs
  • Monitors strategic planning efforts for and proactively drives programs
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and quality
  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources, changing contractual specifications or coordinating responses to customer action items
  • Supports the development of new business opportunities
  • Acts as internal and external customer focal
  • Supports the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operation budgets, specification and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect interests
  • Manages program scope increase or decrease via change management processes
  • Is a change agent to drive continuous improvements in a highly challenging environment

Experience Required

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite and JDE/SAP)
  • Educated to Degree level in a Technical Discipline
  • Formal PM training or accreditation such as PMP or APM is highly desirable
  • Commercial knowledge/awareness and a strong focus on the delivery of objectives
  • Good program planning skills (Microsoft Project or Primavera)
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • Proven strong program management skills and experience in leading programs
  • Proven people leadership in a matrix organisation
  • External and internal customer exposure experience
  • Knowledge of NPI product lifecycle – JDP, PDR, CDR and FAI
