Position Summary :

The VP, Finance, APAC & EMEA will provide finance and business support across the APAC & EMEA regions. In addition, the candidate will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to maintain and support global financial requirements.

The position requires an experienced finance professional, who can provide strong leadership to a finance team located team across London, Riga and Singapore that is responsible for the entire accounting / control life cycle, budgeting and forecasting, and analysis.

This role will also be part of a global team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the monthly close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate at both regional and global level.

The position reports directly to the CFO but will work closely in a business partner capacity with the Managing Director, APAC & EMEA. The position also forms part of the APAC and EMEA Senior Management Team (SMT), leading the strategic direction of the combined regions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare the annual budget, rolling forecasts as well as the long-term plan.
  • Recording transactions by department, comparing costs incurred to budget and performing a performance analysis of profit centers.
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, and fixed asset records.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and related management reports and variance analysis.
  • Preparation of monthly operating review package incorporating actual and budget results.
  • Review the monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Prepare monthly annual statements and related footnotes.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual tax return as well as manage the annual audit process and formulation of statutory accounts.
  • Enhance the monthly financial data to provide a higher level of analytical analysis on revenue and cost trends and variances.
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances, as well as tracking capital expenditure monthly against budget.
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.
  • Provide financial and commercial information to the Managing Director and CFO to assist in assessing the viability of project initiatives.
  • Work with regional sales leads to prep and review financial detail associated with sales opportunities across the regions.
  • Manage a team of accounting and finance professionals, located across London, Riga and Singapore.
  • Form part of the regional SMT.
  • Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies.
  • Maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the Encompass Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and Encompass assets.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-time.

Qualifications/Experience :

  • Fully qualified in the relevant discipline – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Educated to degree level or recognized equivalent, with an emphasis in accounting and finance.
  • 5+ years’ post qualification Controller experience essential in the accounting and finance profession.
  • Working experience using Netsuite preferred along with excellent MS Office skills.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting rules.
  • Experience working as part of an international reporting group.
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
  • Preferable industry sector and commercial management experience and knowledge (e.g. telecoms, digital media, broadcast).
  • Exceptional and flexible work ethic with an understanding that the role sits across various time zones.
