The Role

As the Regional Director for North East and Yorkshire & Humber, you will lead and manage the activities of the Regional Support Team (RST). You will be responsible for delivering the ICE vision, core purpose and objectives in the region, ensuring the effective implementation of the ICE Plan. This role has a focus on building relationships, ensuring knowledge sharing across the regions and raising the profile of civil and infrastructure engineering, all while maintaining a high level of member engagement and satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve ICE’s regional objectives.
  • Motivate and engage volunteers to support the ICE Plan.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders like local government, industry and academia.
  • Implement the ICE Plan in NE and Yorkshire & Humber, focusing on member engagement, knowledge sharing and regional infrastructure policy
  • Oversee and deliver high-quality regional events.
  • Collaborate with other regions to share best practice.
  • Engage with media on regional infrastructure issues.
  • Prepare and manage the regional budget.

What We’re Looking For in You

  • Significant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, construction or related sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing a team and working with volunteers.
  • Experience in business planning, budgeting and financial management.
  • Excellent relationship building, communication and influencing skills at a senior level.
  • Experience in project management and event delivery.
  • Experience of interaction with infrastructure stakeholders.
  • Passion for civil and infrastructure engineering and a commitment to promoting the profession.
