The team consists of a number of Centres of Excellence that provide specialised technology support across Barclays UK, who work closely with the business to accelerate their strategic objectives with technology About Digital Our core role is to enable the delivery of a world-class Technology landscape underpinned by strong controls and a commercial mind-set. BUK Digital exists to ensure that Barclays Retail Customers experience the best digital banking, delivered with the right fit-for-purpose technology, engineered to the appropriate standards through efficient and effective process, and via an organisation fit from a culture and skills perspective. BUK Digital also ensures we advance group level frameworks in conjunction with CTO partners to ensuring consistent digital experiences across the Barclays group.

Overall purpose of role
The Technical Product Director is a pivotal role that drives the strategic direction, development, and management of technical products capabilities within the Digital Platform. This role is instrumental in ensuring that the products not only meet the current demands but also anticipate future trends and opportunities.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product success.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing product team capable of delivering exceptional results.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary communicator for product strategy, updates, and results to stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrable experience operating with senior level stakeholders across technology and business disciplines
  • Change Management: Lead change initiatives related to product development and adoption within the organisation.

Decision-making and Problem Solving

  • Strategic Decisions: Make strategic product decisions based on data-driven insights, market trends, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and address complex technical and business challenges that impact product success.
  • Prioritisation: Effectively prioritise product features and initiatives to maximize value and align with strategic goals.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks associated with product development and market changes.

Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
