Job Title: Lead Data Engineer

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking public sector organisation that is seeking an experienced Data Team Manager / Lead Data Engineer to lead and deliver critical modern data services. This is a unique opportunity to manage complex data environments, work with cutting-edge cloud data migrations, and drive data excellence within an organisation committed to transformation and innovation.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in collaborative settings, has excellent data literacy, and is passionate about delivering value-driven data solutions.
Manage and deliver modern data infrastructure and associated services, including data warehousing and Azure cloud data architecture .
Lead in a complex data environment with operational and business data distributed across various platforms and applications.
Develop and implement robust data governance and standards frameworks while ensuring compliance and security requirements are met.
Foster collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex data solutions into accessible insights.
Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and direction to a dedicated data team, ensuring high-quality delivery and performance.
Proven experience managing and delivering modern data infrastructure (data warehousing, Azure cloud).
Demonstrated success in complex data environments across multiple platforms and applications.
Excellent knowledge across all aspects of modern data management, including data governance and security compliance.
Highly developed data literacy, analytical, and collaboration skills .
Experience with data governance, innovation frameworks , and standards implementation
Knowledge of security, compliance, and frameworks such as ITIL, TOGAF, Cloud Data Architecture (MS/AWS) , and Archimate .
