Maritime Strategies International (MSI) Ltd is a dynamic and successful maritime consultancy business, with a global client base. We are now looking for maritime market analysts to join the expanding team.

We are looking for a recent graduate to support the ongoing development of new products and contributing to the HORIZON analytical platform. You will be trained to use MSI’s econometric modelling framework to generate market forecasts, contribute to reports and participate in a diverse range of consultancy and strategic advisory projects, across the maritime, energy and marine infrastructure sectors.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of analytical competence acquired in a research/analytical role, and ideally possess knowledge or a proven deep-seated interest in at least one of the following areas:

• Shipping
• During the first year the successful candidate will, on a quarterly basis, rotate through the main shipping sectors (oil tankers, dry bulk, containers and specialist sectors) supporting the existing sector teams. Training will be provided on the job and the individual will have the opportunity to contribute to deliverables from day one. Following the initial year, the candidate will subsequently have the opportunity to either specialize in a single sector or take a more pan-sector role, either in the analyst, research, data or valuations team.

Maintain and develop MSI’s proprietary shipping market models, updating and integrating new sources of data and adapting model architecture to changing market conditions
• Contribute to regular publications, presentations, webinars, and consultancy projects
• Source, structure and interpret regular numerical and statistical data on trade flows, vessel supply, industry earnings and asset prices
• Monitor regulatory developments, sector decarbonization objectives and shipping’s role in the energy transition
• Support business development initiatives, product innovation and global marketing of MSI services
Enthusiasm and interest in the maritime industry
• Sciences, Maths, Data Science, Statistics or Economics)
• The ability to ensure data integrity and consistency, implementing checking routines and procedures
• Advanced proficiency in Excel a distinct advantage, MS Office proficiency essential
