Remit:

  • The successful Tool Room Engineer candidate will have experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools with the ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Role:
  • As a Tool Room Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring optimum performance and safe operation of all mould tools to assist in the efficient running of the plant which maintaining good housekeeping, liaising with other departments and complying with all company health and safety procedures.
  • Carry out breakdown and preventative maintenance on all mould tools, jogs & fixtures
  • Carry out projects associated with tools, tooling and/or manufacturing equipment as requested by the Tool Room Manager.
  • Provide shift cover in the Tool Room when required.
  • Attend college/training courses where applicable.
  • Ensure that housekeeping of the department is kept to a high standard.
  • Ensure conformance to the Company Quality System procedures as documented.
  • Ensure mandatory Personal Protective Equipment is worn when and where required, and that all duties are carried out in line with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • Undertakes any duties as assigned on either a temporary or permanent basis by the Tool Room Manager or Senior Member of Management.
Experience Requirements:
  • Time served apprenticeship in tool making, machining, engineering.
  • Knowledge of injection mould tooling.
  • Knowledge of injection moulding processes.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH), etc.
  • Basic Electrical knowledge/Computer Aided Design (CAD) use and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Experience in the use of overhead cranes an advantage.
  • Forklift Licence an advantage.
  • Logical problem solving abilities
  • Good literacy and communication skills with reporting abilities
