Paws Pharmaceuticals is a well funded start-up animal drug development company. Our niche is to license drug pipelines from academia and industry and develop the pipeline through FDA and Health Canada approval processes. Our business model is to be the "pharm team" for the animal health drug pipeline, nimbly develop technologies through regulatory processes and sell the approved drug portfolio to animal health pharmaceutical companies. We are seeking an experienced drug development CEO to head up the company from the current incubation stage, through to public market listing or M&A and guide the company's pipeline acquisition, development and divestment to distributors. Applicant must be entrepreneurial and have drug development experience at the CEO level as well as extensive drug development industry contacts and a history of success with integrity. A passion and love for animal care is an utmost requirement. Competitive Salary and equity at the start-up level are offered and the position can be remotely operated from anywhere in the world. As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for the management of the operations of a company as well as setting its overall vision. The role involves a high level of responsibility, with pivotal decision-making affecting the future of a company and its employees.

CEO Duties:

  • Leading the development of the company’s short and long-term strategy, ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Making major corporate decisions, and managing the overall operations and resources of a company including DD on IP for acquisition and development, liaison with research partners, investor presentations and attracting licensing and research partners
  • Communicating, on behalf of the company, with shareholders, government entities, and the public
  • Maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities, industry developments, etc.
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
  • Evaluating the work of other executive leaders within the company, including directors, vice presidents, and presidents
  • Developing fresh ideas for the running of the company.
  • Monitoring how various departments of the company operate and how they work together to achieve overall goals.
  • Creating and implementing strategies, together with the senior management team, to determine the direction the company will take.
  • Enforcing adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics
