Where will you be working? At M Group Energy we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? We are seeking a Project Director in Pembroke to join our Energy Division at M Group, managing multi-disciplinary project teams in the design, construction, extension, and refurbishment of transmission substations. You'll lead substation projects end-to-end, aligning delivery with M Group’s goals and National Grid’s standards while inspiring a high-performing team. You'll create clear project plans, manage budgets, track progress, and adjust quickly to hit milestones and maintain profitability — we'll give you the tools and governance to succeed. You'll identify and solve risks early, ensuring the highest safety and compliance standards across all works. You'll build strong relationships with stakeholders, from National Grid to suppliers and subcontractors — we'll back you with transparent communications and support. You'll mentor and motivate your team, driving collaboration, quality, and environmental excellence — we'll invest in your leadership growth every step of the way. What You’ll Bring You'll bring a degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field — and if you have a Master’s, even better. You'll have around 15+ years’ experience leading projects in transmission, high-voltage substations (400kV / 275kV), or renewable generation. You'll know electrical systems, grid connections, and commissioning inside out, with a proven track record of delivering major infrastructure on time and on budget. You'll combine sharp problem-solving with confident decision-making, backed by strong leadership, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills. You'll communicate with ease at every level, building trust and collaboration across diverse teams and partners.
