Glasgow, United Kingdom Orion Group Full time

We have a current opportunity for a Pipeline Group Package Lead or Manager on a permanent basis in either Glasgow (UK) or Paris (FR) with some overseas travel required.

We are seeking professionals with proven experience in the subsea pipeline industry. Have you taken the lead or played a pivotal role in a major pipeline project within the energy sector? Perhaps you've supervised and directed technical teams and are now seeking a new challenge?

Whether you're looking to transition from a technical role into project management or you already have experience as a Pipeline Lead or Project Manager, this opportunity could be the next step in your career.

Your Role:

As part of the Pipeline Group, you will support global pipeline projects from the tender phase through to execution. Our team brings together pipeline production, installation engineering, and vessel management, consolidating expertise in pipelay operations, materials, welding, coating, and lay analysis.

As the Package Lead / Manager, you will be a key member of the project delivery team, acting as the main point of contact for the Tender / Project Manager. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the successful completion of the work within safety, production, resource-hours, schedule, and financial targets. Additionally, you will:

  • Facilitate the tender review process, including kick-off meetings, strategy reviews, management reviews, and tender handovers to the regional team, coordinating input from various disciplines.
  • Manage project start-up activities, including defining responsibilities, key dates, and cost budgets, while identifying any deviations from the initial plan.
  • Identify the necessary team disciplines, allocate and monitor workloads, ensuring activities progress according to schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards.
  • Control and report on the progress of activities against the agreed budget and schedule.
  • Identify and manage changes, risks, and opportunities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Plan and oversee site and vessel mobilization and operations.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams across tendering, commercial, engineering, SCM, P&O, spoolbases, and offshore management.

What We're Looking For:

  • An engineering degree or relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in pipeline projects within the energy sector, such as fabrication or engineering.
  • Project management training or relevant project management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with tendering processes, including defining scope limits and identifying cost and technical requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to compile, deliver, and present reports effectively.
  • The ability to build collaborative relationships across a multicultural, global environment.
  • Influential leadership skills to ensure processes are understood and adhered to by all project participants.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to communicate potential constraints that could impact the program or budget.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple, often competing deadlines.
  • Initiative and ownership to deliver work independently, while also supporting broader team activities.
  • A proven track record of identifying and implementing efficiency and cost improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

If you are a driven professional looking to advance your career in a dynamic and supportive environment, we encourage you to apply.
