Lead DevOps Engineer (Hybrid 2 days per week in London)

Head Resourcing is pleased to be partnering with one of the UK's leading retail banks, seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team in London. In this hybrid role, you will take on leadership responsibilities, coaching and mentoring peers while remaining hands-on to tackle complex technical challenges. Lead a team of engineers, guiding and mentoring them, while setting an example through hands-on contributions in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Collaborate on building resilient, distributed systems on public cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Azure, and extending to GCP.
Drive architectural simplicity and operational excellence by minimizing manual interventions through automation and scaling cloud services.
Helm: Authoring and maintaining Helm charts, leveraging Helmfile to manage deployments.
Automation & DevOps Tooling: Expertise with CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps, Terraform, and ARM Templates, and solid experience in automating deployment processes.
Experience in Chaos Engineering, implementing resiliency strategies, and leading disaster recovery planning.
Networking & Security: Hands-on experience managing network layers (L3-L7), DNS, and public key infrastructure (PKI).A seasoned professional with a strong background in SRE or DevOps, able to provide in-depth mentorship and technical leadership.
Proficiency in at least two programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.
Strong expertise in DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus, and Git.
Up to £118k depending on experience
