Frontline Recruitment Weymouth are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our prestigious client based in Portland. The Accounts Assistant will support the Finance Department in managing and processing various accounts and transactions, will report to the Financial Controller and the job will be based in the Portland Office. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Credit control
  • Review employee expenses and mileage
  • Quarterly VAT reconciliations
  • Supplier payments
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Create, send, and follow up on Sales Ledger invoices
  • Process various types of Purchase Ledger transactions
  • Prepare/post journals for various end of month tasks
  • Provide support to other team members
  • Track and reconcile bank statements
  • Communicate with suppliers & customers regarding account balances and payments
  • Setting up new suppliers/customer in Sage 200 and carrying out relevant checks
  • Ad hoc duties where required
HSEQ
  • Take reasonable care of yourself and any others who may be affected by your work.
  • Cooperate with MRE on all matters relating to HSEQ.
  • Comply with risk assessments and method statements relevant to your works and to follow the noted control measures.
  • Report any incidents, observations or near misses.
  • Take care of all work equipment, do not use any defective equipment and report defects immediately.
  • Wear any necessary PPE as outlined for works being conducted; and
  • Maintain MRE’s high standards of housekeeping at all times.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
  • AAT Qualifications Level 3 preferred but not required
  • Computer Skills and knowledge of relevant software (i.e. Sage 200, excel)
  • Previous finance experience essential
  • Prioritizing, planning and organizing
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, teamwork, communication skills – written and verbal
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
