Our client is thrilled to welcome a new Philanthropy Manager to their dynamic and growing team. This pivotal role is all about driving the engagement and support of potential and existing major donors, trusts, and government bodies, with a strong emphasis on increasing income growth. You'll have the opportunity to think strategically, developing compelling fundraising cases and detailed impact reports, working closely with both the Care Service and Finance teams. As the Philanthropy Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing the fundraising strategy. This is a unique opportunity to influence and contribute to the overall mission of the organisation, ensuring sustainable growth and impactful outcomes. Your leadership will be vital in building robust relationships with high-net-worth individuals, philanthropic foundations, and key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision : Supervise, mentor, and support three direct reports, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Encourage professional development and performance excellence within your team.
  • Strategic Development : Develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives to engage major donors, trusts, and government bodies. Craft compelling fundraising cases and detailed impact reports that resonate with stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making : Utilise data to inform decisions and track progress towards goals. Regularly analyse fundraising performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential major donors, ensuring effective stewardship and communication. Organise and attend meetings, events, and presentations to engage stakeholders and showcase the organisation's impact.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with the Care Service and Finance teams to align fundraising efforts with organisational priorities and financial goals. Participate in team and departmental planning sessions and activities.
  • Talent Management : Attract and retain top-performing staff with relevant experience and specialised skills. Provide ongoing support and development opportunities to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Continuous Improvement : Take charge of personal professional development and stay informed about industry advancements. Implement best practices and innovative approaches to enhance fundraising effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Experience : Proven experience in line management, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team. Demonstrated success in fundraising, particularly with major donors, trusts, and government bodies.
  • Skills : Proficient in MS Office, with strong numerical and data skills. Excellent relationship management abilities, confident, poised, and outgoing.
  • Attributes : Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies. Strong communicator, able to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
