A luxury Automotive OEM is looking for aIn-plant Logistics Engineering Manager to join their team.
This is initially a short term Logistics Engineering Solution Design Manager role, covering the early concept phases of a potentially large scale logistics project.
We are looking for a proven Logistics leader, with broad knowledge of logistic engineering solutions, processes, systems and equipment and latest market trends.
In-plant logistics processes, lineside delivery methods, storage media, kitting strategies, AGVs and handling equipment.
Knowledge and experience of supporting requirements gathering, solution and layout designs, business case creation, right through to delivery and final project completion
Contribute to the robust programme delivery and strategy execution to support a flawless programme launch
Facilitate the collaboration of colleagues on the development of logistics requirements and material flow strategies, ensuring that the company are adopting Best in Class Logistics solutions for new vehicle programmes.
Drive the development of cost submissions for programmes investment, marketplace space etc.
Design and improve processes of moving material throughout the factory and warehouse including lineside material presentation, warehouse design/ optimisation, development of lean logistics solutions.
Use benchmarking and other research methods to identify potential opportunities for the latest technology and methodologies to drive Best in Class solutions
Contribute to the development of layout plans for decks, market place and lineside in support of changes in model, volume, shift patterns
You will have to establish business requirement / engage with stakeholders and customers alike and present sound logistics engineering solutions.
These will require elements of finance justification and once approved you will lead the end result through to delivery, where relevant.
These projects will include all aspects of Sustainability and Health & Safety and as the company is a keen promoter of both, these will be top on the list.
This is a highly demanding role with green field opportunities providing opportunities for international travel and a sense of autonomy and control over your work
Previous experience and background in Manufacturing Logistics: Broad knowledge of logistic engineering solutions, processes, systems and equipment and latest market trends.

Strong leadership skills and proven ability to lead teams Previous experience and background in Manufacturing Logistics
Experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement
Ability to maintain and interpret logistics data knowledge and skills with a broad understanding of the interfaces into vehicle platforms and plants
Strong IT skills and Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel
Experience working overseas or in an international project context or keen desire to do so CAD skills to create and maintain lineside layout drawings
