An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Category Manager to join our client based in Slough. This is a contractual position, to be worked on a hybrid basis (x2 days in the office).

As a key member of the Commercial team, you will collaborate with the Group Manager - Commercial to implement the Procurement and Contract Management Strategy. Your expertise will be crucial in developing new contracts, advising senior leaders, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in upskilling the organisation in best practice procurement.

You will make a real impact in the community and collaborate with passionate professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

Shape the direction of the organisation by driving the reform agenda.
Ensure the delivery of priorities and value to residents.
Provide a strategic vision for service development, enhancing procurement and contract management practices.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement.Corporate Leadership:

Collaborate with the distributed leadership network to drive departmental and cross-cutting initiatives.
Accept collective responsibility for embedding sustainable changes throughout the organisation.
Encourage staff to recognise their contribution to our strategic objectives.Service Leadership and Management:

Lead integrated delivery, improvement, and performance of the service.
Commission and direct activities within the organisation and externally.
Translate overall objectives into effective plans.
Ensure efficiency and local responsiveness.
Provide inspirational leadership, strengthen skills, and foster a culture of standards and accountability.Resources and Financial Management:

Maintain tight budgetary control.
Prioritise resources effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant qualifications in procurement, contract management, or a related field.
Proven experience in strategic procurement and contract management.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
