We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Local Government finance team. This is a pivotal role for a CCAB-qualified professional with public sector experience, offering the opportunity to influence and shape financial strategy and service delivery across a complex organisation.
Act as the lead expert in your specialist area, providing strategic financial advice and insight to stakeholders.
Prepare, plan, and monitor revenue and capital budgets, supporting future service and organisational planning.
Deliver high-quality financial reports, management information, and statistical analysis to inform decision-making.
Lead on compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, interpreting complex financial regulations and developing accessible procedures.
Design and deliver specialist training to finance and non-finance colleagues, ensuring consistent understanding and application of financial policies.
Support funding bids and grant claims, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes, promoting efficiency and best value.
Provide technical expertise to support projects, system development, and financial forecasting.
Deputise to the Senior Finance Business Partner or Head of Finance as required.
Proven experience in finance and budget setting within a large, complex organisation.
Strong track record in delivering financial services, advice, and performance reporting.
Ability to interpret and apply financial legislation and regulations.
Skilled in preparing budgets, forecasts, and final accounts.
Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in project management and service improvement initiatives.
CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Evidence of continuing professional development.
