We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join our team in September 2024. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about education, have excellent organizational skills, and be able to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Position: Role: Attendance Officer Location: Hackney, London School Type: Mixed, Secondary School Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: September 2024 Start Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage student attendance records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Follow up on unexplained absences and lateness, implementing school policies and procedures. Work closely with students, parents, and staff to promote regular attendance and punctuality. Prepare and present attendance reports for school leadership and external agencies. Support the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures. Liaise with external agencies, such as the local authority and social services, when necessary. Attend relevant training and professional development sessions. Requirements: Previous experience in an educational setting or similar role is desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and administrative abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using computer systems and software for record-keeping and data analysis. Commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
