Design Manager - Contract role - Rate Neg - Paddington or Swindon
We are seeking a talented Design Manager with tunnel and/or hydro experience to support a new Tender as soon as possible. The project involves extending an existing hydro station to increase its capacity. The role involves managing design consultant activities and deliverables to ensure timely completion in line with the agreed program. As the technical lead on projects, you will track and report deliverables, ensuring alignment with our high standards. You will also collaborate with employees, clients, design consultants, and supply chain engineering functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee design queries and contract compliance
- Collaborate on design programs and manage communication with the client
- Produce monthly design progress reports and maintain the design deliverable schedule
- Chair design reviews and interface meetings, ensuring all deliverables meet required standards
- Manage the document register and implement change order management
The individual will manage the design consultants during the tender. This will include management of the cost and programme and review of consultant’s submissions with the ultimate aim of providing the Client with highest quality submission at a competitive price.
The role is needed immediately and will be required until the end of September 2024.
The role can be carried out in London (Paddington) or Swindon. If the former, some travel to Swindon can be reasonably expected.
