Senior Enterprise Account Manager – Public Sector
We’re looking for a proactive, strategic, and results-driven Senior Enterprise Account Manager to accelerate Proofpoint’s growth across Public Sector organisations in the UK. This position is very much a building from the ground up, selling into white space and strategically growing the vertical. The position will report to the Director of Public Sector Sales UK and will own and grow a portfolio of named enterprise accounts , combining new business acquisition (focus) with expansion of existing relationships. You’ll work closely with System Engineers, Channel Partners, and internal stakeholders to develop strategies that protect customers from advanced threats and enable long-term success .
Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships within Public Sector accounts (2,500+ end users)
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (System Engineers, Channel Partners) to develop and execute account strategies.
Analyse and report on pipeline progression, forecast accuracy, and account performance.
Manage the end-to-end sales process, ensuring operational excellence and timely execution.
Maintain compliance with Proofpoint’s sales methodology and industry best practices.
Preferably bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Proven success in enterprise technology sales, ideally with SaaS and cybersecurity solutions.
Strong executive selling skills (CISO, CIO, CMO) and ability to influence complex buying cycles.
Experience closing deals in the $100K–$1M range in Public Sector
Familiarity with formal sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger, TAS, Command of the Message).
Experience using Salesforce.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
