QA/quality Engineer

Our client is seeking a DQA Engineer to join their team for a freelance B2B contract that is expected to last 6 months, with potential for additional extensions. This position is 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality assurance for data pipelines, APIs, and ETL workflows
Project details:
Contract Length: 6 Months

Location: Hybrid in Belfast, 3 days per week and 2 days remote
Languages: English Speaking
Strong experience in quality assurance for data pipelines, APIs, and ETL workflows, preferably in financial services.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Proven ability to design and execute test plans for complex data workflows, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
Good understanding of modern testing methodologies such as TDD and BDD.
PyTest, Behave, unittest) and scripting languages such as Python or Java.
Knowledge of data validation techniques, schema checks, and data integrity testing for structured and semi-structured data.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and services like S3, Glue, Lambda, EventBridge and Step Functions.
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into DevOps workflows.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with developers, data engineers, and business analysts.
Experience with Agile software delivery and QA best practices.
