Group Financial Controller | £75k–£90k + £6k Car + Family Healthcare + Matched Pension If you’re after a role where you can genuinely shape a finance function — not just keep the wheels turning — this is one worth a look. This business has strong backing, a capable team, and a CFO who wants finance operating at a higher level. The foundations are solid, but there’s real room to tighten controls, sharpen reporting and elevate how the organisation understands performance. You don't need to be the finished article—they’re keen to hire for potential. They want someone who can grow with the business, not necessarily someone who's done it all already. Why this role exists They’re at that point in the journey where better visibility, cleaner processes and stronger discipline will have a direct impact on growth. They need someone who can take ownership of financial control, modernise the basics and build confidence in the numbers. You won’t be drowned in corporate bureaucracy, and you won’t be firefighting startup chaos. It’s that sweet spot: stable, well-backed, multi-site product led — and ready for finance to step up. What you’ll actually do A broad, hands-on GFC remit with genuine influence: Lead consolidated management accounts and upgrade reporting Own statutory accounts, tax, compliance and all external submissions Strengthen internal controls and embed better financial discipline Manage audit, advisors and regulatory reporting Drive improvements across systems, processes and month-end routines Lead the annual budget and forecasting cycle Partner with the CFO on performance, risk, opportunity and long-term planning Develop and coach a capable team (4 direct reports within a wider team of 12) Who this suits Someone technically strong, steady and pragmatic — who wants breadth, ownership and influence. You’ll enjoy this if you like autonomy, visibility with leadership, and the feel of an SME-style setup… but with the stability and backing of something bigger. ACA/ACCA-qualified, ideally Big 4 or Top 10 trained Likely in your 2nd or 3rd move post-practice Strong across reporting, controls and compliance Confident with auditors, advisors and senior stakeholders Hands-on, detail-focused and comfortable setting the pace They’re open to someone with potential — you don’t need to be the finished article. The CFO is commercially strong, down-to-earth, and wants someone who can grow with the business.
