Job Title: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm Salary: £85 per day Start Date: ASAP Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in the Wellingborough area. The successful candidate will work in a Key Stage 2 (KS2) class that includes students with special educational needs (SEN) who may display challenging behaviour. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis. Assist the class teacher in creating and implementing individualized learning plans. Use positive behaviour management strategies to support and guide students. Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. Support students with their social, emotional, and academic development. Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff members. Monitor and record students’ progress and report to the class teacher and SEN coordinator. Assist with classroom activities, including preparation and clearing up of resources. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required. Requirements: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, specifically with SEN students. Strong understanding of the challenges and strategies involved in managing challenging behaviour. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable but not essential. An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one). Benefits: Competitive daily rate of £85.
