Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine | OrthTeam Centre | Competitive Salary| Part time (1.5 days per week)
The OrthTeam are now recruiting a Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine to join our highly skilled team of consultants

The OrthTeam Centre, established in 2019, is a centre of excellence for Sport and Exercise Medicine, and leading provider of MSK diagnosis, treatment and surgery in the UK. We look after a wide range of patients, including athletes with sporting injuries and the general population with complex medical conditions.

All of our consultants have trained to develop the highest level of specialisation in their chosen areas which include sport and exercise medicine, all aspects of orthopaedics, peripheral nerve, spinal neurosurgery, neurology, pain management, rheumatology, endocrinology and musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging.

At the OrthTeam Centre, we work as a team to ensure better clinical outcomes for our patients and a more effective governance structure. The OrthTeam Centre is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine to join our esteemed team on a part-time basis.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience as a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine, demonstrating advanced knowledge in sports illness and injury prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

This role will involve the opportunity to deliver comprehensive care to patients and athletes, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of sports-related injuries and illnesses, while also promoting overall physical health and performance.
This position is integral to our collaborative environment, working closely with consultants and allied healthcare professionals within an elite setting.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous professional development, staying at the forefront of advancements in sports medicine.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports medicine at Consultant level, preferably working with elite athletes or in a high-performance environment
Experience in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine
Experience in Female Athlete Medicine
Experience in the diagnosis and management of complex sports injuries and medical conditions
ATMMiF / PHICIS qualification or equivalent and MSK ultrasound qualifications are desirable
