Navantia UK is expanding its operations in Methil and we are looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to support ship repair and fabrication projects. Job Description About the Role As a Welding Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day welding operations, ensuring all work meets required quality standards, safety regulations and project schedules. You will support and guide a team of welders, helping them develop their skills while maintaining efficient and safe work practices. What You’ll Do Supervise and coordinate welding tasks across ship repair and fabrication projects. Ensure all welding activities comply with procedures, specifications, safety requirements and quality standards. Provide training, mentoring and support to welders to strengthen skills and productivity. Plan, allocate and schedule welding tasks to meet project deadlines. Monitor performance and offer clear, constructive feedback. Inspect welds to verify compliance with engineering and project specifications. Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers and other teams to resolve issues and improve workflows. Oversee the correct use and maintenance of welding equipment. Promote and implement safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Prepare reports on welding progress, productivity and quality. Qualifications Requirements: Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor in ship repair or similar industry. In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials used in ship repair. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team. Ability to interpret welding specifications and drawings. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding. Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector) is a plus. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Good communication skills to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
