Founding Engineer | Fintech | London (Onsite) | £100k and Founding Equity We're working with an early-stage, VC-backed startup in London that is building an AI platform to automate finance operations . They’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join the team and help shape the product, technology, and company from day one. What The Role Involves Own critical systems: Build platforms that automate invoicing, revenue collection, and cost attribution. Design APIs, integrate with finance and payment systems, and handle real-time data pipelines. Shape the product from zero: Work alongside the CTO to drive architecture, technology choices, and product direction. Your decisions will directly impact how the company scales. Ship fast on customer feedback: Deploy features to early customers, iterate based on their needs, and eliminate manual work in finance processes. Set engineering standards: Establish development practices, testing approaches, and deployment processes to ensure reliable, high-quality systems. Who They’re Looking For 5+ years building and scaling complex systems. Full-stack development expertise: TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, REST APIs, reactive UIs, and database design. Entrepreneurial mindset: excited by startup speed, flexible roles, and building from scratch. User-focused: cares about product and design decisions, not just technical implementation. Leadership in action: able to push through roadblocks and inspire teammates. Collaborative: thrives in high-performing teams.
