Location: Based at Leicester HQ – Covering West Midlands, Oxfordshire, & Northamptonshire Regions

With a commitment to excellence and a proven track record of delivery, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contracts Manager to join the team.

Job Description:

As Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful delivery of commercial flooring contracts in your territory (West Midlands, Oxfordshire, & Northamptonshire). You will be responsible for managing the entire project life cycle, from pre-installation through to completion, ensuring that contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

· Take receipt of job handovers from HQ and discuss start dates and agree programmes of work with main contractor in good time prior to commencing work

· Organise RH testing of slab via various manufacturers in good time prior to starting on site and issue report and costs to the main contractor

· Organise and appoint labour to carry out works and make sure labour rates are agreed and documented prior to starting

· Liaise with main contractor to ensure we are working to the correct drawings/schedules

· Call of materials in good time to suit programme – make sure hoisting/forklift facilities are made use of prior to sites removing them

· Monitor programme and quality on site

· Delivery of projects on or under budget

· Contract administration ensuring site issues are recorded and documented

· Assist in the production of weekly payment certificates for fitters to invoice against – all on rates – dayworks by prior agreement only

· Ensure any extra works are instructed and priced prior to them being carried out

· Be on site to meet fitters where necessary – hours of work between 8am and 5pm or other such hours as may be required from time to time

· Undertaking tool box talks, producing area completion sheets and quality forms, producing RAMS and Health Safety Information for clients as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the UK commercial flooring industry
  • SSSTS or SMSTS + CSCS
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Effective communication, people management and client facing skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to price/ record variations/ additions
  • Proficient in project programming
  • The ability to read and accurately interpret programmes, drawings and technical specifications
  • An understanding of construction contracts and legal requirements
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards
  • Proficient in MS Office (particularly Outlook/ Excel) & competent in using smartphone apps for record keeping/ condition surveys etc
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel as necessary
  • The right to work in the UK
