About the Role

Footballco is looking for an experienced SEO manager to take ownership in growing organic visibility for our sports data offering. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in developing and executing global SEO strategies encompassing both technical expertise and content optimisation. Positioned within the Insight & Growth department, they will have a background in working with product, engineering and editorial teams and have a strong grasp of leveraging data for informed decision-making and prioritisation

We offer competitive compensation and a bonus scheme. You will report to the Head of SEO at Footballco.

What You will be doing:

  • Define global SEO strategy for sports data pages, such as live scores, competition and player pages.
  • Collaborate with the SEO team and wider stakeholders to define and prioritise product roadmaps for acquisition and engagement.
  • Identify technical issues and opportunities. Working with engineering teams to define solutions and implement improvements.
  • Conduct thorough competitor analyses to pinpoint deficiencies in our strategy and approach while also identifying potential avenues for expansion.
  • Track, analyse and report on performance, identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Assist SEO team in performance-led based deliverables and recommendations across Footballco's portfolio of sites

What you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an SEO role.
  • Solid technical SEO skills with exposure to working on enterprise level domains with millions of URLs.
  • A strong understanding of international SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with tools like SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Botify and other industry-standard SEO platforms.
  • Awareness of 'programmatic SEO' and what techniques can be utilised to create/improve organic acquisition at scale.
  • Proficient in generating and manipulating large datasets to extract valuable insights, preferably skilled in utilising Looker Studio and SQL (BigQuery). Any proficiency in Python is advantageous.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive mindset, adept at driving initial ideas and concepts through to fruition, resulting in tangible impact.
  • Fluency in English, but any multilingual skills are a plus.
