Accounting Technician/Tax Technician

Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. As an Accounting Technician within our Central Finance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. Reporting to an Accountant, you will be responsible for producing high-quality financial analysis, reconciliations, and reports that inform strategic decision-making across the business. Develop and continually improve areas of the finance function to better aid the company in simplification and integration
Analyse ledger to ensure integrity
Support management with data-driven analysis
Support the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all time the business remains compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, the need to comply with the company’s Equality and Diversity Policy and undertake identified associated learning and development activities
Good Understanding Financial Systems and Shared Services processes.
Strong Knowledge of Functional Finance Processes
Ability to build strong business relationships beyond the finance team, as well as ability to effectively manage the needs of multiple stakeholder groups.
Support the delivery of effective and efficient accounting
Little or no experience and working towards AAT qualification
Good understanding of the Company financial policies, procedure and standards
Microsoft Office with good excel skills

The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year). For the purpose of assessing an employee’s annual leave entitlement, a day means seven and two fifths (7.4) hours. A pro rata entitlement will apply for part time workers.
