Senior Structural Engineer Offshore Wind Renewable EPC
Location: Remote (UK / Europe)
Employment Type: Freelance / Ltd Company
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Daily Rate: €800 - €900
- Design tasks for current projects including preliminary sizing of steel structures, strength, buckling and fatigue analysis, and detailing of the structures
- Interface with drafters to produce packages of drawings for certification and fabrication
- Follow closely the fabrication planning and execution phases to provide support as necessary
- Prepare project specifications and structural design criteria
- Develop initial or conceptual structural designs and layouts
Educational Background: Master of Science in a relevant field of engineering (Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in the design of ship, offshore structures, or wind turbine supporting structures
Specialized Experience: Minimum one (1) year of professional experience in floating wind
Software Proficiency: Experience in using commercial FEA software such as ANSYS or equivalent
Knowledge: Firm and practical knowledge of class standards and relevant regulations (ABS, BV, DNVGL, and/or API)
Programming: Proficiency in two (2) or more programming languages (Matlab, Python, VBA)
Tools: Experience in drafting and modelling tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino)
Skills: Strong technical and data analysis skills
Language: Proficiency in English, both oral and written skills, is essential

- Ability to become a key person for projects on behalf of the Structural Engineering Group
- Outstanding organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Display excellent oral and written communication skills
- Possess the ability to work independently; is self-directed and motivated
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with colleagues in a positive and collaborative manner
- Proven experience working in multidisciplinary environments within a global context
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Capacity to provide technical supervision to junior engineers
