Background

With ambitious growth goals over the next four to five years, the Gas & LNG Consulting team offers an exciting place to continue one’s career. One of the most important aspects of the team’s success will be an enhanced ability to build and maintain foundational relationships with clients. For this to happen, a combination of existing staff and new joiners will need to step up to the challenge of leading new customer engagements. These individuals will need to be familiar with the energy industry and passionate about serving customers and developing the team. In the role of Director, there will be an opportunity to forge and foster relationships with clients that will enable this growth. Under the Director’s leadership, project teams will develop and deliver insights drawn from unparalleled industry data and experience, increasing the likelihood that these new customer relationships will grow and even become the foundational clients of tomorrow. The Director will serve as the conduit between the project execution team and management, supplying observations and hypotheses needed to run the business and formulate business development strategies.

Main Responsibilities
  1. As project lead, the Director will be accountable for the quality of all solutions delivered to energy clients, from analytics to presentations.
  2. Manage multiple client relationships by effectively interfacing at all levels.
  3. Collaborate with both colleagues and clients on the development of new solutions needed to meet clients' objectives or otherwise facilitate the energy transition.
  4. Oversee and manage more junior members of the Gas & LNG Consulting team, driving successful project execution.
  5. Develop and maintain work plans to accomplish project scopes while setting clear objectives and deliverables.
  6. Perform QA/QC of analyses and deliverables.
  7. Support management in running and administering the business through activities such as planning, recruiting, training, performance development, etc.
  8. Regularly update management on project progress, including revenue recognition and profitability metrics.
  9. Identify opportunities to sell additional consulting services and products; drive proposal development and partner with management and other stakeholders to close the deal.
About the Candidate
  1. Bachelor’s degree required; a post-graduate degree in a relevant subject area is generally preferred.
  2. 12+ years in Consulting or Corporate Strategy; experience within the Gas & LNG and/or Oil & Gas sectors is preferred.
  3. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, project/time management, and managerial skills.
  4. Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to write persuasive documents and construct high-impact storylines.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills appropriate for a large spectrum of clientele.
  6. Passionate about active coaching and committed to improving productivity and opportunities for junior staff.
  7. Ability to adapt based on the needs of clients and the company; focus on solutions, not problems.
  8. Demonstrated ability to lead a dynamic, cohesive team and to work effectively in a team environment.
  9. Enthusiastic about contributing to and positively influencing team culture through mentorship, teamwork, empowerment, etc.
  10. Strong interest in the energy sector and working with clients to solve energy supply chain issues.
  11. Results-driven; enjoys the challenge of a changing business environment.
  12. Willingness and ability to travel 60-80% of the time.
