As an Azure Databricks Solution Architect Lead , you will be responsible for designing and leading implementations of global data mesh architectures, data pipelines, ETL processes and data integration solutions across the Life Sciences, Health Care, Energy & Resources and Utilities sectors.
Design and implement a global data mesh architecture using Azure Databricks.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
Ensure the architecture supports scalability, high availability, and robust data governance.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team.
Lead the design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions & oversee the development and deployment of data models, ensuring best practices are followed.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions & collaborate with data stewards, data brick admin, analysts, and other technical teams to integrate and operationalise Global Data Mesh.
Optimise the performance of Databricks clusters and Spark jobs & implement monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and address performance issues.
Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations & implement data governance frameworks and processes to ensure data quality and consistency.
Provide training and mentorship to junior architects and engineers.
Experience in data architecture or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and implementing data mesh architectures.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala.
Strong experience with Azure services including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
Experience in data governance and security best practices.
In-depth understanding of big data technologies and distributed computing.
Data modeling.
Data visualisation tools (Power BI).
