Product and Services Safety Senior Lead
£We have a new role open at a senior level where you will provide technical leadership of the Safety Management System and a Team of circa 20 experienced staff. We are looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm to take on this senior level technical safety leadership role to lead Safety Management System planning, implementation and operation across the business for a variety of aviation and non-aviation products and services. These include maintenance, design, engineering support, software and training solutions.

You will support the Product & Services Safety Senior Manager in representing the SMS team at a senior leadership level within the company at senior level influencing the wider SMS system. The successful individual will act as the Technical Lead for the team and form part of the Products and Services Safety leadership team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager for P&SS and working closely with the SMS team manager and SMS leads, you will oversee the assurance and risk management strategies across all UK sites and programmes. Your role will provide oversight of products such as safety investigations, complex risk analysis papers, risk assessments, bowties, software heatmaps and trending including training designs on those core skills

Previous experience in a Safety Management leadership role within commercial and/or defence aviation organisation
Significant previous experience in briefing senior leadership teams on safety
Experience in leading and facilitating effective Safety Action Groups and Safety Review Boards
Formal Safety Management System training
Detailed knowledge and understanding of civil and/or defence safety and SMS regulations, standards and legislation
Safety Risk management training and experience presenting safety risk information at a senior level
Significant risk management experience in assessing and analyzing risks
Leading the UK SMS planning and operation
Oversee the continued development of the Safety Assurance Strategy and Safety metrics/Intelligence Dashboard Development of the SMS continuous improvement plan Evolution of the Centrik Safety and Risk software
Act as the Technical Lead Engineer for Safety Management Systems
Provide review and oversight of risk analysis papers
Oversight of safety investigations
Advising on Safety Matters with Senior Leadership teams and senior leadership teams across the business.
Act as the SMS focal for risk escalation, stakeholder review and briefing key leaders Support the Safety Manager in planning and facilitation of the UK Safety Review Board including:
Development of Safety Review Board presentation material and presentation to the Leadership team
Oversight of the maturity of multiple Safety Action Groups, and programme safety working groups Advising and oversight of SMS strategy;
Working with the SMS specialist leads on their strategies in training, assurance and risk management and overseeing their progression and successes
Establishing and oversight of effective interfaces with key teams within UK and across our suppliers and customers Represent the company as a Subject Matter Expert internally and externally at industry events, forums and conferences
Travel within the UK is expected and some overseas travel may be required.
