- Full-time Art Teacher
- Post starting ASAP
- Long term contract, with the potential to go permanent
- Pay in line with teacher pay scale
- Planning, marking and delivering a full Art & Design timetable across KS3 – KS4 in line with the current curriculum
- Located in the Middlesbrough area
- Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Art.
- Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Art lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
- Assess and evaluate class work reporting back to Senior Teachers to take appropriate action to support pupils in meeting their aims and objectives.
- Guide pupils who require additional support within a classroom and implement strategies to help manage their learning.
- To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
- Hold a UK recognised QTS (or equivalent)
- Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
- Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
- Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students
- Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 level for Art and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
- Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
- Have a good level of ICT skills
- Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies
- Be able to communicate positively, both written and verbally
