An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Art and Design and Photography Department. We are seeking a creative, adaptable, and dedicated specialist with a passion for Art to deliver inspiring lessons to our pupils. As the Head of Department, you will have high aspirations to ensure pupils meet or exceed expected progress, and a proven track record as an excellent classroom practitioner.
Job Duties:- Lead and manage the Art Department, overseeing all aspects of art education
- Develop and implement the curriculum for art students
- Provide guidance and support to art teachers and staff
- Coordinate art exhibitions and events
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with other departments on cross-curricular projects
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the art education field
- Previous experience in a leadership role within an educational setting
- Demonstrated expertise in art education and curriculum development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire both students and staff
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or Art is desirable
- At least 5 years of experience in teaching or managing an art department
- Proven track record of successful leadership and programme development
- Comprehensive understanding of art history, techniques, and mediums
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for art education
- Ability to foster creativity and critical thinking in students
- Experience in working with diverse student populations
- Membership in relevant professional associations or societies
- Fast-paced educational environment
- Regular interaction with students, parents, and colleagues
- Potential for evening or weekend work during art events and exhibitions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
