Main Purpose of the Role :

This role will support the comprehensive, accurate, timely recording, collation and preparation, for final approval, of financial information for UKEC and its related legal entities according to approved group and company requirements, and to comply with all financial, legal and internal group and company deadlines

Key Accountabilities:

  • Timely and accurate preparation and submission of the UKEC Regional monthly management accounts.
  • Assisting and reviewing the timely and accurate preparation and submission of monthly management accounts, supporting balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis for business lines within the organisation.
  • Collate, Review & question variances to Plan & forecast
  • Execute and drive the Balance sheet reconciliation & review process in order to minimise financial risk within UKEC
  • Collating and assisting in the timely and accurate preparation and submission of the UKEC quarterly business review slide pack and adhoc presentations.
  • Primary finance contact for UKEC management accountants / regional controllers and Business Unit Managers and assisting in their continued development.
  • Assisting in the timely and accurate preparation of annual and quarterly statutory reporting requirements including liaison with the external audit team.
  • Primary finance contact for UKEC external auditors.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of statutory accounts for UKEC entities.
  • Assisting in accounting systems and process improvements across UKEC.
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the UKEC finance team including cash management, receivables collections and supplier payments, asset utilisation and inventory optimization.
  • Provide business support to the Regional VP and Regional VP of Finance in respect of creating and delivering the regional strategy and business plan. Assist with acquisition assessment and post-acquisition integration.
  • Provide support and financial and commercial input into customer tenders, IT infrastructure, ESG projects and individual business unit capex plans.
  • Assist on direct tax compliance to coordinate with tax advisers on timely submission of Corporation Tax computations.

Requirements :

  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and keeping up to date with the latest accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Good system skills including excel to a high level (pivot tables, vlookups, nested formulas).
  • First-rate analytical skills, with the ability to present findings to people across departments.
  • Professional qualification is essential (ACCA/ CIMA/ ICAS or equivalent)
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous demonstrable experience in a similar role. Oil and gas/ Energy industry experience is preferable but not essential
