The role of Accounts Receivable Manager will be responsible for overseeing the UK Accounts Receivable team, ensuring they are working to a high standard and producing accurate work in a timely manner. You will ensure that controls and processes are being followed across the Accounts Receivable functions and identify any control weaknesses or process improvements.
Working alongside the global Accounts Receivable teams, you will provide global visibility of the overall aged debt position and ensure that operational and financial performance are on track to meet companies strategic objectives and that reporting is meaningful and informs business decision making.
What you’ll be doing as ourAccounts Receivable Manager:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the UK Accounts Receivable department, including invoicing, cash collections, cash collection forecasts and customer account reconciliation.
- Liaise with Project Managers to ensure that project billings are timely and accurate.
- Ensure sales invoices are accurately and reported timely within the companies invoice discount facility.
- Identify and integrate process improvements to improve efficiency and quality across the Accounts Receivable process cycle.
- Produce, monitor and report global Accounts Receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts, working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Lead the collections efforts along with the global Accounts Receivable team, including developing collection strategies and managing collection activities.
- Develop, report and monitor KPIs.
- Analyse Accounts Receivable trends and metrics, such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimise cash flow and reduce aged debt.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the AR team, including training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
- Build relationships within the business to improve controls, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Responsible for ensuring that Accounts Receivable ledgers are reconciled to the General Ledger.
- Lead and deliver all UK Accounts Receivable Annual Audit requirements.
- Ensure proper maintenance, filing and storage of records.
What we’re looking for in our Accounts Receivable Manager:
- Relevantexperience in a similar Accounts Receivable Manager role.
- Strong understanding of credit management practices.
- High level of commercial acumen.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams and driving improvements.
- Invoice Discount Facility experience.
- Experience of working within a target driven role.
- Excellent people management skills and ability to motivate team members.
- Flexibility and the attitude of a team player.
- Inquisitive by nature.
- First-class attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience of Sage Line 1000.
- Experience of system development and integration.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders.
