Role: Financial Controller
Communications Agency
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 Full Time equivalent
Permanent: 4 days per week – Hybrid ( M,T,T in the office)
VisionFR is delighted to be working with one of our clients and SME Communications agency of around 30 staff. The agency is owner managed and looking for a 4 or 5 day a week Financial Controller to join them. The role will business partner with the owner and oversee the Finance assistant/ bookkeeper. The role is to oversee and control the day to day finance function and produce meaningful management information/ forecasts enabling proper business management.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
Preparing accurate & timely monthly reports Dashboards, variance analysis and KPIs.
Preparing monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account with variance analysis, Balance sheet and key KPI measures
Having regular meetings with account management on revenue, Work in Progress (WIP), Job costing. Oversee the Bookkeeper to ensure they are accurately and properly managing the transactional side of the business – Purchase ledger and Creditors and Invoicing and Accounts receivable together with posting cash receipts and managing the payment run. Ensuring they are accurately reconciling the balance sheet and Bank accounts.
Taking overall responsibility of the company’s accounting function currently they are using both Paprika & Xero
Payroll processing & liaising with HR on Payroll amends
Work closely with the Client Services Team to assist in the production of weekly time reports, time analysis, invoicing schedules, budgets, estimates and forecasts, staff utilisation, profitability reporting, working to minimise write offs.
Liaising with HR regarding payroll changes and assisting with year-end P11D and P35 returns
Looking at implementing efficiencies within the finance processes looking at automation where possible

The Skills of the Financial Controller:
Technically strong Financial Controller, used to working in a fast paced creative agency environment.
You will be a Strong QBE or ACCA, CIMA, ACA finalist with a can do attitude and good attention to detail
Understanding of Paprika Software would be ideal
Happy working in an SME environment & Being in the office 3 days a week
Strong Excel Skills
