About the Role: The Payments, Innovation, and Resilience Manager will act as a senior policy advisor focusing on infrastructure development and delivery across the UK payments landscape, including both card and interbank systems.

Key areas of responsibility include initiatives such as: Confirmation of Payee (CoP) and Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). The role involves supporting the industry to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of infrastructure changes, leveraging a strong understanding of core payment flows and ecosystems, as well as hands-on experience in implementing payment changes across various payment schemes.

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Delivery Support: Oversee the delivery of significant infrastructure changes within the payment ecosystem by collaborating with regulators, payment system operators, and stakeholders.
  • Policy and Regulatory Guidance: Keep updated on UK and international payment regulations, offering insights and advocating for best practices in payment infrastructure projects.
  • Committee Support and Administration: Support the operation of key member committees by preparing agendas, maintaining accurate records, and participating in meetings to provide expert advice.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including financial institutions, regulators, and technology providers.
  • Project Management: Lead or support the delivery of infrastructure projects, identifying risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Contributing to producing publications, public affairs materials, and online content.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of UK, European, and international payments ecosystems / financial market infrastructure (FMI) from an operational and regulatory perspective.
  • Experience in delivering key infrastructure projects, such as CoP, RTGS Renewal, FPS enhancements, and SCA.
  • Understanding of Economic Crime and Fraud Payments.
  • Chaired committee meetings or took the lead in Payments meetings around change, understanding risks and issues associated with change within the payments ecosystem.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing stakeholder relationships.
