Health And Safety Manager
To provide operational Health, Safety and Wellbeing leadership across the Built Environment Division.
To develop and implement a Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Wellbeing (HSQEW) framework, taking responsibility for the development and management of robust health, safety and wellbeing strategies, policies, processes and procedures considering best practice and the operational needs of the business.
Ensuring that Keltbray complies with all current Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Wellbeing (HSQEW) legislation.
Identify initiatives to improve performance and address areas of poor performance.
Responsible for developing, promoting and monitoring the HSQEW culture.
Carrying out routine and regular inspections of all their delegated locations and provide timely written reports on findings.
Set a personal example at all times by using the correct personal protective clothing/equipment and following all safety requirements and procedures.
Assist in the production, review and monitor suitability and effectiveness of risk assessments and safe systems of works.
Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Immediately contact the Head of HSQEW responsible if situations are found, that require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.
Initiate and maintain positive measures to raise the level of the HSQEW performance, safety compliance and awareness
Liaise with inspectors of the Health and Safety Executive, local authorities, fire, police, ambulance services, as necessary, and to foster links with local safety groups, trade associations, training boards, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health etc.
Qualifications and Training
Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) – Graduate or Chartered
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
Extensive and up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
Applicable CSCS Card
Accident Investigation Report Writing
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health risks, and controls associated to Keltbray business operations
Be flexible to change and actively seek constructive feedback
IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook
