Our partner is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Team Lead) to play a pivotal role in their Space debris removal projects and provide line management and technical leadership to the team members.

This Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Team Lead) opportunity focuses on leading and overseeing all analysis activities for spacecraft equipment, components, and subsystems, including the complete structure and capture mechanism. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards acting as the technical authority for all spacecraft structures and equipment.

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Team Lead):

Mechanical -

Identify and generate structural requirements for spacecraft, subsystems, and individual units.
Lead hardware analysis across the spacecraft structure, mechanisms, unit modules, and ground support equipment, guaranteeing they meet mission needs.
Collaborate with design leads and engineers on the structural analysis of flight hardware and mission support equipment.
Work with the AIV team to ensure that mechanical design considers ease of manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing.
Oversee and assist in defining and executing hardware-related activities throughout spacecraft design, development, AIV phases, and launch campaigns.
Manage structural testing for flight, qualification and engineering hardware.
Investigate structural non-conformances and propose solutions, identify lessons learned, and develop mitigation strategies to support flight clearance activities.
Mentor and support team members to enhance their knowledge and skills.Leadership and Management Responsibilities -

Resource and scheduling of the Analysis Team, assigning team members to project work.
Motivating and leading others - Leading the team, regular one-to-ones and team meetings.
Developing others - Actively seek performance improvement, coaching, and annual performance appraisals.
Key Skills & Experience Required by the Mechanical Analysis Engineer (Team Lead):

Diploma; bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant engineering/science discipline.
5+years of experienceas a mechanical analysis engineer, with experience in the space industry (other hi-tech industries such as aircraft, motorsport etc. will also be considered).
Highly proficient in Finite Element Analysis with significant experience in NASTRAN and the HyperWorks software suite (other FEA packages will be considered).
Experience with Engineering Change Processes and using a PDM/PLM system.
Demonstrable ability to prepare mechanical aspects of a plan against project needs and deliver against this.
Demonstrable experience of technical leadership over the full lifecycle of a spacecraft, from design to launch.
Experienced in leadership and management of a team of engineers.Company Benefits -
