The Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford works to develop and deploy advanced technology in pursuit of solving some of humanity’s most challenging and enduring problems. Guided by world leaders, scientists, and entrepreneurs, EIT seeks to accelerate innovation by driving scientific and technological advancements across four humane endeavours: health and medical science, food security and sustainable agriculture, climate change and clean energy, and government innovation in the era of artificial intelligence.
EIT Oxford is a new interdisciplinary research and development facility that bridges The Oxford Science Park and Littlemore. Set for completion in 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will have 30,000m² of research laboratories, an oncology and preventative care clinic, plus educational and meeting spaces. The new facility will further EIT’s current partnership with the University of Oxford and become the new home for Ellison Scholars.
At the Ellison Institute, we believe that an inclusive, collaborative team atmosphere is just as important to our mission as our scientific aims and methods. We strive to build a supportive environment where everyone feels confident taking creative risks toward innovation. We value emotional intelligence and communicating with empathy and respect for others. We foster a team that is curious, has a deep sense of commitment, responsibility, and the resilience needed to achieve excellence.
Business Operations consist of Communications, Information Technology and Finance teams who are tasked with strategically managing central resources and projects across EIT Oxford, making sure processes are standardised and streamlined, so the business runs smoothly, efficiently, and is set up for success.
They are a small but growing team, collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to produce engaging content, inspiring visuals and story telling initiatives for a variety of communication channels.
External Communications: Engaging with media outlets, stakeholders, and the public through press releases, interviews and public relations campaigns to build EIT Oxford’s brand awareness, reputation and expand its reach.
• Internal Communications: Managing communications such as the Intranet, All-Hands meetings, internal newsletters and digital signage to colleagues to ensure alignment, transparency, and engagement across teams.
• Digital Marketing: Optimising online platforms such as the website, social media channels and email newsletters to offer users an informative and inspiring experience.
• Content Creation: Designing compelling content, including press releases, videos, website pages, social media posts, slide decks, logos, brochures and posters, to communicate news, innovations, and insights from EIT Oxford’s work.
• Brand Management: Establishing and maintaining a cohesive brand and visual identity.
EIT Oxford is seeking an accomplished graphic designer who is a conceptual thinker, has creative flair and meticulous attention to detail to join its Communications Team and lead on developing a range of communication and brand identity assets.
The Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving our umbrella brand identity as well as our sub brands and programmes. This includes establishing brand guidelines and style guides to ensure consistency, scalability, and adaptability as the brand grows. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring the brand remains agile, capable of evolving with our expanding global reach and diverse range of initiatives.
The role will require developing and managing visual identity assets that are exciting and imaginative across logos, posters, promotional merchandise, hoardings, brochures, handbooks, slide decks, and other marketing materials. This will be across a range of digital and print platforms for a variety of stakeholders. As part of this, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating corporate brand guidelines that inform everything from typography, colour palettes, and imagery to tone of voice, ensuring coherence across all touchpoints.
The Graphic Designer will support communication efforts across the organisation – from Science and Technology programmes, to Ellison Scholars, EIT Oxford Clinic to the Institute’s internal operations.
As a key member of the Communications Team, the successful candidate will be instrumental in safeguarding brand consistency, while also ensuring flexibility.
