Welcome Team Member - Part Time (21 hours)

Grade 3 - £25,808 to £27,562 pro-rata, including local weighting depending on experience. Part time 21 hours per week. Permanent. Closing date is Thursday 30th May 2024 at midnight.

An exciting opportunity for Welcome Team Members has become available to work at BEAM (formerly Hertford Theatre) as part of the new team relaunching the building after a 4-year hiatus and a £30m redevelopment. This is an exciting time for you to join us and develop your career as we seek to strengthen and deepen our food and beverage offer, the programme of theatre, live events, films and community work in our 547-seat theatre, 150-seat studio theatre, dance studio, community room and 3 dedicated cinemas.

The successful candidate will assist the Welcome Team Lead in the day-to-day delivery of the food and beverage operation and be the open, friendly, knowledgeable face of BEAM. Undertaking basic food preparation and service of the food and beverage offer, serving on the bar and maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment across the venue.

This role requires the successful candidate to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

To be familiar with the venues ever changing artistic offer of shows, films, and events.
- To be familiar with the food and beverage menu.
- Prepare and serve food to standard recipes to ensure consistency of product and cost control.
- Serve drinks, food, and confectionery across the building.
- Check in food and beverage deliveries.
- Follow stock rotation procedures to minimise waste.
- Support the practical delivery of films across the building as necessary.
- a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Experience of working in a hospitality and food service environment is desirable.
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but training will be given.
- Experience of using an EPOS system is desirable but training will be given.
- Basic computer and IT skills.
- 26-29 days’ annual leave depending on grade, rising to 34 days with 5 years' local government service
