A leading defence systems company are looking for a Commercial Officer to join their team, offering proactive commercial support in business strategy, customer liaison, bid winning, and contract delivery. This role is perfect for someone with a strong commercial background who can work collaboratively across various functions.
Support Business Development in creating commercial proposals and business-winning activities.
Prepare detailed cost estimates and commercial proposals for various customers.
Ensure compliance with business and governance procedures during costing, bidding, and contract processing.
Negotiate and finalize bids and contracts with the support of the Commercial Manager.
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and ensure compliance with export control requirements.
Provide support to meetings and maintain Commercial Management Plans relevant to the portfolio.
Proven experience in a commercial role, preferably within similar contracting environments.
Strategic thinking with the ability to look beyond immediate tasks.
Understanding or willingness to learn UK and US export control regulations and contract terms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel skills, and ERP platforms (Syteline preferred).
Flexibility to support the Commercial Team as needed.
Competitive salary package.
~25 Days Annual Leave (+ Bank Holidays).
~ Pension: 5% and will match up to 8%.
